Introduction to Our Trainer
Microsoft have awarded Chris the Microsoft Certified Trainer status for both Excel 2007 and Access 2007, which means that he is approved by Microsoft to present the official courseware on their behalf. Chris chooses to focus his skills back into the construction industry, rather than just presenting Microsoft courses to all industries. By specialising purely in construction and drawing on his commercial construction experience, Chris is able to provide a truly unique training experience, which greatly improves the efficiency of his candidates and the candidates' organisations. There have been several disciplines and areas in which he has worked in a commercial capacity. Chris started his professional career back in 2000 as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor; and has progressed quickly through his career so far. He has practised as a Quantity Surveyor for sub-contractors and main contractors alike; and has served general construction companies, mechanical and electrical companies and construction claims and dispute resolution organisation throughout his career. It was very early in his career that Chris realised the powerful capabilities of Microsoft Excel within the construction industry and the wasteful methods utilised by his employers. At this time he began to study the software in his own time and to implement some of his techniques into his day to day working life, thereby making himself more efficient. This efficiency transferred into a niche skill within the industry, as there were few commercial staff that were able to perform some of the more complex analysis techniques that Chris could utilise. The niche skill gave him the opportunity to work within dispute resolution as a quantum analyst, where he could provide complex analytical presentations for his clients. Chris now enjoys having the ability to pass on some of this knowledge and to improve the way many commercial staff within construction use Excel. Our Trainer's QualificationsChris has qualifications and certifications in both construction and Microsoft software. These are outlined below: ConstructionEarly in his adult life, Chris achieved a GNVQ entitled Construction and The Built Environment. This was swiftly followed by an HNC in Building Studies and then by a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying. Chris was also an associate of both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Microsoft Suite of SoftwareWhilst Chris has perfected his use of Microsoft software over many years, his certifications were achieved relatively late on in his career. In 2008, he became a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist for both Excel and Access 2007; and then a Microsoft Certified Trainer in 2009.
